Empower Future Healthcare Professionals—Support the Griffin Hospital School of Allied Health Careers

The Griffin Hospital School of Allied Health Careers is dedicated to preparing students for successful healthcare careers. Many students come from underprivileged backgrounds, working hard to support their families while pursuing education and career advancement. Through nurturing support and 1-on-1 guidance, graduates consistently excel in national certifications, often ranking in the 99th percentile, and enjoy high job placement rates, stepping confidently into healthcare roles.

Through specialized partnerships, local youth from economically vulnerable communities are gaining access to healthcare career programs. According to a recent ALICE study, 50% of households in Ansonia and Seymour face challenges meeting basic living needs. These programs are a direct pathway to gainful employment and a better quality of life for these young people, immediately after graduation.

Student Testimonials

“I was drawn to this class because of the learning opportunity. I want to go to college for nursing and I just thought this class would give me further knowledge to help me understand and learn more in the future. I also chose this class because of the job opportunities that can come with it. I want to work as a PT in college as I go to school. Overall, I just love learning more about the human body, its functions and healthcare. Taking this class with my classmates from high school makes it so much more enjoyable and makes me comfortable while I’m learning. A grant made it possible for me to take this class. Honestly having this grant inspired me to jump at this opportunity.”

“Joining this class was a career goal. I feel I am one step closer to my future career. It makes me feel like I am where I belong, and healthcare is my dream.”

“I am in this class because I wanted to gain early deep knowledge and clinical experience in the medial field before committing pre-med biology in college. I am here because of a scholarship in the phlebotomy and patient care technician course. I am excited to learn how to draw blood, learn how to perform high quality patient care, and learn many important skills that will help me in the medical field.”
