Unrestricted gifts to the Annual Fund allow Griffin Hospital to upgrade medical technology, provide ongoing education to keep our talented employees and medical staff current with the most recently advances, support community health and wellness programs and ensure affordable, high-quality preventive and healthcare services.
Make a Gift to Support the Observation Unit
Support the creation of a new Observation Unit with a gift of any size. The new Observation Unit will help alleviate congestion in the Emergency Department, which in turn will reduce wait times for our patients. In providing our patients with a soothing, comfortable environment with Planetree amenities, patients will experience a shorter stay, quicker recovery and better outcomes!
Make a Memorial / Tribute Gift
Remember the meaningful life of a loved one, or an important person in your life, or mark a special occasion with a Memorial or Honor gift made to Griffin Hospital. Make a Gift to Honor a Caregiver
The Grateful Patient Program provides patients and family members with an opportunity to honor one or more Griffin caregivers who provided outstanding service during their stay or outpatient experience at Griffin Hospital and/or offsite facility. We will notify that caregiver of your gratitude, keeping the amount confidential, by sending them a card to let them know of your thoughtful tribute.

A bequest in your will is perhaps the easiest way to benefit Griffin Hospital. You can specify a fixed amount or indicate that a percentage of your estate to be directed toward the hospital. The gift can be in the form of cash, securities, real estate or personal property. Even if you already have a will, it’s easy to amend your plans by creating a codicil.

You can designate Griffin Hospital as beneficiary of your retirement plan assets, such as a 401(k), 403(b), IRA, Keogh, profit-sharing pension plan or other donor-advised funds. If you have already provided for your family in your estate plan, consider naming Griffin Hospital the beneficiary of all or a portion of your assets or designate the balance remaining in your plan after another beneficiary’s lifetime.

Donors can give real estate or other property outright to the hospital or give a partial interest in the property.

You can receive tax benefits by naming Griffin Hospital the irrevocable owner and beneficiary of an existing life insurance policy you no longer need or you might purchase a new policy to benefit the hospital.

By donating appreciated stocks, bonds or mutual fund shares, you will receive a tax deduction for the full fair market value and reduce capital gains taxes.

Avoid income tax when you donate all or a portion of your required minimum distribution (if you are 70 ½ or older) to the hospital.

The Valley Goes Pink is a grassroots, community-wide effort throughout the Lower Naugatuck Valley to create awareness about breast cancer and the importance of early detection and raise funds to support The Hewitt Center for Brest Wellness at Griffin Hospital. You can join the “Pink Movement” by hosting Pink Parties in homes, “pinkifying” businesses with ribbons or lights, or hosting dress down days and auctions – the possibilities are endless! Or you can help by planning or attending one or more of these fun happenings
