Griffin Hospital will host Music in Motion – A Celebration of Wellness on Thurs., April 25 at 6 p.m. in The Community Health Resource Center, 130 Division Street, Derby.
In recognition of National Move More Month, this free event combines the power of music with the serenity of yoga and meditation, and expert medical advice to show the benefits of exercise and rejuvenation for the mind, body, and soul.
The event features symphony-level musical performances by Aimee Toner, a distinguished flutist and graduate of the prestigious New England Conservatory and Gretchen Frazier, a talented and experienced violinist who has performed with esteemed orchestras including the New Haven Symphony Orchestra, Hartford Symphony Orchestra and the Charleston Symphony. Participants will discover how guided yoga and meditation can engage muscles and build strength, endurance, balance, and cardiovascular health while releasing stress and tensions. Pulmonologist Marya Chaisson, MD, will also provide invaluable insights into maintaining respiratory health with practical tips and strategies to optimize well-being and enhance quality of life.
Embrace wellness in a harmonious blend of music, movement, and mindfulness. Whether you’re a music enthusiast, a yoga aficionado, or simply seeking holistic wellness, Music in Motion promises an evening of inspiration and renewal.
