Dr. Daisy Bang is a highly accomplished medical professional with extensive training and experience in rheumatology and internal medicine. She earned her M.D. from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, MA, in 2009, following her undergraduate studies at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD, where she received a B.A. in Anthropology and Cognitive Science in 2002.
Dr. Bang completed her postgraduate training with a fellowship in rheumatology at New York University Langone Medical Center from 2013 to 2015. Prior to that, she undertook her residency and internship in internal medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Montefiore and Presbyterian Hospitals from 2009 to 2012.
She holds medical licenses in both Connecticut and New York, and is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in both rheumatology (2015) and internal medicine (2012). Dr. Bang has a diverse professional background, including her role as a rheumatologist at the Arthritis & Osteoporosis Center, P.C. in Hamden, CT, from 2015 to 2018, and as a Clinical Instructor of Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center from 2012 to 2013.
Throughout her career, Dr. Bang has been recognized for her academic excellence, receiving the NIH Post-baccalaureate Intramural Research Training Award, Phi Beta Kappa honors, and departmental honors in Cognitive Science from Johns Hopkins University. Her research activities have focused on the effects of colchicine and urate-lowering therapy on endothelial function in gout patients, self-assessment of disease activity in rheumatoid arthritis, and bone quality of inflammatory arthritis.
Dr. Bang has contributed to numerous abstracts and posters presented at prestigious conferences, including the American College of Rheumatology Annual Meeting. Her work has been published in reputable journals, such as the Arthritis Research & Therapy Journal.
